As the charity producing one of the biggest comedy festivals in the UK, which welcomes hundreds of comedians and festival goers alike every February, we are invested in making sure all who attend have a safe, welcoming and inclusive experience. With the prevalence of sexual assault & harassment being a pivotal issue in society, we are in a position to create a culture of change within our community.
This is why, with funding from the Office for Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (OPCC) and Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation, we have been able to provide venues & promoters with a series of Safer Spaces training sessions covering sexual assault prevention, active bystander awareness training, access and inclusion and mental health first aid.
You can read more about the training programme here, along with an account of the first session from one of our team here.
